Peter Carr campaigning the #698 Can-Am Maverick X3 leads the Colo Park Challenge, the opening round of the CAMS New South Wales Off Road Championship at the conclusion of day one of racing.

Carr’s time of 36:00.866 gives him just over a one second gap to second placed Justin Guy and Eric Hume #919 – 36:02.316.

Fellow SXS competitor Phil Lovett #666 sits in third place, 43 seconds behind Guy – 36:45.139.

Matt and Keegan Smith #33 also succumbed to the Colo Park vegetation, hitting a tree in the second lap of race one.

Tony Abson #1026 failed to finish race two with steering failure; Ian and Allan Cotton #805 had engine issues; Scott Davis #77 has ongoing alternator dramas and will be changing a battery for every race and try to finish the event; Penny Ramsay #247 rolled the Super 1650 in the first race and managed to continue racing after righting the buggy; Chris Watman #912 lost a wheel on the last lap of the day.
