Wednesday, 05 September 2018
This weekend the Southern Off Road Racing Association will host the second round of the Tasmanian Off Road Series “The State-Wide Earthworks 300.

Cambridge Off Road Park, located adjacent to the Hobart airport, will be the venue for the two day 300km enduro around Tasmania’s newest short course circuit.

SORRA have spent countless hours in recent weeks preparing the circuit for this weekend; extensive drainage work and track prep has gone in ensuring competitors will have the best possible surface over the five heats of racing.

Entries are still open and will not close until Saturday morning, but already a good field of cars is expected on the start line Saturday.

Chris Branch #116 will lead the Southern attack in his V6 Pro-Lite; Branch, sitting second in the series, will take advantage of his home track knowledge as he works toward his first series outright title.

Wayne Campbell and Andrew Giffard will both be hoping to continue the momentum from Round 1 as they build on their respective class points.

The battle of the SXS lights will continue from the opening round between Michael stalker and Mike Males. Both the Yamaha and CanAm will be ultra-competitive on the technical circuit and will definitely be hot on the heels of the buggies.

The sole Class 8 machine this weekend will be Dean Maddock in the Rangie, if conditions turn wet #866 may well be the car to beat!!

Spectator entry is free all weekend with gates opening at 8.00am on both days, racing will get underway Saturday with prologue at 11.00am and Sunday heat 3 will start at 10.00am.
