The first round of the CAMS Victorian Off Road Championship was held at the Bagshot Motorsports Complex on Sunday 1st July where a small field of 7 crews took on the Bruce Fiske Memorial Enduro. The format of the day was a prologue then two sections of 1 hour around the 5.5km course.

Frosty conditions greeted crews with a sunny day prevailing. Minimal rains saw a mainly dry track with a couple of corners holding unexpected water making things interesting for all.

Eric Schlifelner (#155) in his Saber Buggy set the pace taking out top spot by 20 seconds in the prologue ahead of the sister Saber of defending VORC Champion David Davis (#1007) and Nigel and Brock Pentlebury (#235) making up the top three.

Schlifelner lead the first heat completing 14 laps in 1h00m12s with Andrew Glover also on 14 laps 31 seconds further back. Third was David Davis a further 1m50s further back. Alan Dixon and Jono O’Conner (#153) had electrical issues during the heat, dropping a lap to the lead group. Rounding the field all on 12 laps were Craig and Adam Button (#469), Ken and Jeremy Holt (#258), with Nigel and Brock Pentlebury stopping for a flat tyre bring up the rear.

The second heat was saw Schlifelner, Glover and Davis battling for the top spot overall. The heat win went to Glover (14 laps) over Davis by 7 seconds with Schlifelner a further 12 seconds back. Dixon completed 2 laps before succumbing to the electrical issues. Only having his third run in the new Rapter buggy Ken Holt stopped early (7 Laps) after having visibility issues. Pentlebury suffered another flat tyre dropping 2 laps to the leaders, while the Button crew completed 13 laps.

The overall win went to Eric Schlifelner (28 laps) by 12 seconds over Andrew Glover with David Davis in third. Rounding out the overall results Button (25 laps), Pentlebury (24 laps), Holt (19 laps) and Dixon (15 laps).
All crews were classified as finishes as they had completed more than 50% of the leaders overall laps.
