Josh Howells and Eric Hume #15 led from start to finish to secure their breakthrough outright victory at this weekend Cob & Co Hotel St George 399. Such domination in a field jam packed with Australia’s finest off road racers shows the strength of character of this young offroader and the support team behind him.

Howells and Hume will walk away from the opening round of the BFGoodrich Motorsport Australia Off Road Championship with the maximum points possible, putting them in great stead for the year ahead.

Team Manager and Dad Glenn Howells many times in 2020 said “someone else is deciding when we go racing this year" (referring to Covid-19 restrictions). It would seem the team have buckled down and made the absolute most of their start to 2021.

Greg Gartner #410, fresh from his recent win at the Rainbow Rises 240, was nearly 5 minutes of the pace of Howells to finish in second ahead of Michael Spokes #116, 2 minutes adrift to round out the podium.

Jason and Kristy Richard #119 clocked in a minute behind Spokes to take fourth ahead of Paul Weel just 40 second shy of Richards to take fifth place.
