ARB revised dates announced
Wednesday, 30 June 2021
The recent announcement of the postponement of ARB TCT The Gap 400 from the Griffith Off Road Club has left many wondering what is in store for the 2021 ARB Australian Off Road Racing Championship.

A collaborative effort from the Griffith Off Road Club and the Goondiwindi Motorsport Association members has resulted in a revised calendar which will still see a four round 2021 Championship.

Two forces of Mother Nature have assaulted the off road calendar… Covid-19 and significant rain events. The Goondiwindi Motorsport Association met last night and voted to postpone their event until 12-14 November due to the significant amount of rain the track has endured in recent weeks and has rendered the course impassable and unraceable for their scheduled August date.

“The ARB Championship events have always worked well together for the benefit of Championship. When Griffith Club had to postpone their July date, we knew it was a good opportunity for them to take our August 13-15 date and for Gundy to move to later in the year” explained Jamie Knight, Goondiwindi Motorsport Association president.

Karl Power, President of the Griffith Off Road Club added “we’re disappointed for the Gundy club members as we know how hard it is to work towards a date and then have to postpone, but we’re excited that we’ve come up with a workable solution for both our clubs and the Championship.”

The ARB TCT The Gap 400 at Hillston will be on 13-15 August and is the second round of the 2021 ARB Australian Off Road Racing Championship and the second round of the AORRA Race Wheels Australia New South Wales Off Road Racing Championship.

The third and penultimate round, the Teagle Excavations ARB Pines Enduro, will be as scheduled on 15-17 October with the grand finale now at Goondiwindi on the 12-14 November.

The underwriter to any event is the state of Covid-19 border restriction at that time. The ARB Australian Off Road Racing Championship events have the fullest intentions of running, however, Mother Nature could, at anytime, play the Covid-19 card.

Round 2 Hillston 13-15 August
Round 3 Millicent 15-17 October
Round 4 Goondiwindi 12-14 November
