Toby Whateley and Simon Herman have made the most of their home track advantage, heading into the overnight break at the Loveday 350 at the top of the timesheets with a slim 17.153second lead over second placed Garry and Tamara Turnbull.

Daryl Nissen and Andrew Harness had a quick turn around from last weekend’s David Larter Memorial at Beachport to be sitting in third place after three sections totalling six laps of the 35km Loveday 4X4 Adventure Park course.

Todd Lehmann and Brad Ross clocked into fourth place with Chris and Colin Johnson rounding out the Saturday Loveday 350 top five.

Of the 23 starters, 19 will front the start lights come 9am Sunday morning. The Williams family in the #6639 Yamaha had mechanical dramas, failing to finish the first lap. Matthew and Shaydon Witmitz overdrove what they said was the slowest corner on the track, rolling the Land Rover #721, ending up with major cosmetic, however, the integrity of the race car is sound and they are hoping to start tomorrow, albeit with the panel work requiring some TLC when they return to the workshop.

Kaine Reid and Kieran Allen had oil pressure issues in the #529 Ford XD Falcon. A disappointing weekend for the Alice Springs based Brett Taylor and Chris Hinspeter, the #431 Jimco out of the event with rear brake issues.
